$25K dinner? Check please!

If you somehow end up here on Hmm...Food...Good, you MUST love food. But do you love food enough to pay $25K for a meal?

Well, 15 rich people did just that over the weekend in Bangkok.
"It was an evening of utter decadence — a 10-course gourmet dinner concocted by world-renowned chefs at $25,000 a head.

Many of those who attended Saturday night's culinary extravaganza in Bangkok hailed it as the meal of a lifetime. But it's no easy task to eat plate after plate of Beluga caviar, Perigord truffles, Kobe beef, Brittany lobster — each paired with a rare and robust vintage wine."
Let's just say that $500 a bottle 1990 Cristal is the cheapest on that wine list.

Oh yes. This is almost all for charity--Doctors without Border and King Bhumibhol's Chitpattana Foundation. And on the fringe, a PR stunt for Thailand to boost tourism.

Personally, as much as I love food, I love charity more. If I have that kind of money, I'd just give it directly to the charity instead. A $500+ bottle vintage wine versus feeding a village in Africa? I'll feed the village in Africa and stick with my Two-Buck Chuck, thank you.

But that's just me. What do YOU think?
